The transformation of a run down cornersite in Darling Street into three levels of mixed use complements the vibrant and bustling scene in the local commercial precinct, and the retention of the original building fabric contributes significantly to the streetscape of Darling Street.
A new central glazed staircase connects the contemporary rear addition which reinterprets the scale of the old building,and negotiations with Leichhardt Council achieved 50% over the allowable floorspace for the area, allowing the owners to substantially capitalise on the site, and take advantage of the surprising harbour views to the North East.
